Ghanim International Corporation Sdn Bhd aims to aid small and medium enterprises (SMEs) by helping them in product development and access the international market. Ghanim’s upcoming Brunei Food Industry Development (BFID) Multipurpose Manufacturing and Processing Facility will be set up this year for SMEs to test their products, mass produce and package their products for sale and export.
This was said by Ghanim Chief Executive Officer Dr Nur Rahman during a panel discussion on ‘Facilitating Trade: Small Market, Big Opportunities’ as part of the Economy Week of the Brunei Mid-Year Conference and Exhibition 2022 (Brunei MYCE 2022) yesterday.
Other panellists were Ministry of Finance and Economy (MoFE) Trade Division Acting Assistant Director Yusdiman bin Dato Paduka Haji Saman and Brunei Darussalam Food Authority (BDFA) Chief Executive Officer Wong Wai See.
Yusdiman also shared the roles of the Trade Division and how companies can sell and trade their products.
Wong explained the role of the BDFA to oversee quality and safety of food production in the Sultanate. The CEO also shared the processes involved in obtaining approval from the BDFA.
The event also saw workshops for entrepreneurs to interact and network with key industry players to establish and advance their businesses.
