A small fire incident involving a gas cylinder and a stove was reported in a house in Jalan Junjongan, Kampong Lumapas.
The fire was put out prior to the firefighters’ arrival.
A distress call was made at 5.02pm and 13 firefighters from Sungai Kebun Fire Station, led by Deputy Station Officer Haji Othman bin Matuso, rushed to the scene, according to the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD).
On arrival, firefighters found the fire extinguished. Nevertheless, they doused the area with water.
Acting Commander of Operation ‘D’ Branch and Sungai Kebun Fire Station Commander Mohammad Sophian bin Haji Mohd Yusuff, Station Officer Alwi bin Haji Jais and Acting ASFR Haji Hamdani bin Haji Hassan from Fire Safety Investigation Division oversaw the operation.
