Thirty individuals completed the Frozen Product Workshop on Sunday, organised by the Village Consultative Council of Kampong Keriam in Tutong District, in collaboration with the Tutong District’s Youth and Sports Department.
The event was held in conjunction with the Day of Action as part of International Volunteer Day 2024.
The workshop themed ‘Improving the Quality of Skills of Village Entrepreneurs’
was held for two days from January 11 at the Tutong District officer’s official residence.
Acting Tutong District Officer Mohammad Sofian bin Haji Basri was the guest of honour at the closing ceremony on Sunday.
The workshop facilitators were Nurkiah binti Haji Ali and Muhd Yunos bin Senusi from Resepi Bonda Resources based in Labuan, Malaysia.
The Frozen Product Workshop aimed to provide villagers with exposure to several skills-based activities in the field of cooking. The participants were trained in a practical setting with sufficient equipment, guided by skilled trainers in the relevant fields. The programme is also hoped to equip participants with skills and introduce the concept of small businesses that can generate profits. The workshop also aimed to enhance participants’ social and communication skills while providing them with experience and knowledge in producing frozen food products. – James Kon
