Sixty participants recently joined 39th National Day Chess Rapid Championship, organised by Brunei Chess Federation.
Among them were international players from Australia, India, the United Kingdom and Malaysia.
Ilham bin Haji Abdul Hamid was crowned as Champion.
The top spot in the U12 category went to Aiden Syahmi bin Zambri from Stella’s School.
Winner of the U16 category was Khaizuran bin Rezuan from Belait Arabic School and the winner for the U20 category was Awangku Muhd Hazim Safwan bin Pengiran Haji Abdul Aziz.
The Brunei Chess Federation is set to hold the 39th National Day Chess Blitz Championship on March 12 at Mid Valley Shopping Centre.
