The book launching ceremony for the Portfolio: An Insight to Creative Computing Projects was held at Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) on Monday.
Vice-Chancellor of UTB Datin Paduka Professor Dr Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman was the guest of honour.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat, followed by welcoming remarks by programme leader of Creative Computing Programme Area of School of Computing and Informatics (SCI) Ibrahim bin Edris.
The guest of honour then officiated the book launch of the Portfolio.
The Portfolio comprised of Creative Computing Programme Area students’ final year projects.
The initiative began with the first graduating cohort of BSc (Hons) in Creative Multimedia and BSc (Hons) in Digital Media in 2017.
This marked the launch of the 6th edition of the Portfolio.
For every edition, different students were chosen to be the editor-in-chief and were given the creative freedom in designing the theme and layout of the Portfolio.
The editors for the 6th edition included Rida Nurdini binti Awang Haji Ibrahim and Dayangku Nurul Asyiqin binti Pengiran Norarffin, graduates from the creative multimedia programme; and Adillah ‘Izzati binti Haji Suhaimi, graduate from the digital media programme.
UTB principal officers, representatives of the sponsors from Cyber Security Brunei (CSB), and Brunei Computer Emergency Response Team (BruCERT) and UTB staff were also present.
The annual publication acts as a creative portfolio for graduates to promote their abilities and creative talents.
The publication also aims to help strengthen the creative industry in the Sultanate.
