SINGAPORE (XINHUA) – The non-oil domestic exports (NODX) in Singapore contracted 8.7 per cent year-on-year in June, extending the 0.7-per-cent decline in May, the government agency Enterprise Singapore said yesterday.
Both electronic NODX and non-electronic NODX declined in June. NODX to Singapore’s top markets as a whole fell in June.
The largest contributors to the decline were the United States, China’s Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland. Singapore’s total trade increased 1.2 per cent year-on-year in June, moderating from the 13.9 per cent expansion in May. Total imports rose 4.7 per cent, while total exports declined 1.9 per cent.
