Singapore minister joins religious event

Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman received a courtesy call from Singapore’s Minister for Social and Family Development, Second Minister for Health and Minister-in-Charge of Muslim Affairs Masagos Zulkifli bin Masagos Mohamad on Monday, where a discussion was held to strengthen cooperation in religious matters.

The courtesy call, held at Semaun Café, was followed by breaking of fast hosted by Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin and spouse.

Among those present were Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan; Singaporean High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Laurence Bay Siow Hon; Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim; Chief Executive of the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS) Kadir Maideen; and Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religious) at the MoRA Haji Abdul Rajid bin Haji Mohd Salleh.

The Singapore minister and delegation also performed Isyak and Sunnat Tarawih prayers alongside Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin at Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah in Kampong Kiarong.

Meanwhile, MoRA held a Qiamullail, followed by a mass Subuh prayer yesterday morning at the new Az-Zakireen Mosque in RPN Kampong Meragang, where the Singapore minister and spouse also participated. – Azlan Othman & Adib Noor
