Siblings Muhammad Adam Muqris bin Mohd Azawan and Nur Adelia Muazarah binti Mohd Azawan emerged as champions and first-runner up in the Surah-Surah Pilihan Memorisation competition for Category A (aged six to seven). The competition was organised by Duli Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah Mosque, Kampong Tamoi.
Meanwhile, in Category B, for those aged between eight and nine, Khalish Irfan Ziqri bin Khairi Azuwan secured first place. Second place went to Nur Amelia Maisarah binti Abdul Halim while Zafirah Batarisya binti Zool Helmi settled for third.
In Category C, aged 10 to 12, Muhammad Razik Afrizan bin Abdullah secured the top spot, Nurdania Qaisara binti Saini in second and Aqilah Batarisya binti Zool Helmi in third.
The winners received BND100 while second place won BND80. The two also received a bicycle, school bag and stationery items and vouchers to purchase school needs.
Dato Paduka Haji Md Alimin bin Haji Abdul Wahab presented the prizes. The ceremony was also enlivened with the recitation of Tarannum Al-Quran by Muhammad Yusrun bin Haji Johari.
The competition serves as a platform to enhance the quality of Al-Quran recitation among the young generation and encourage them to recite Al-Quran daily. – Rokiah Mahmud
