SIA CEO’s annual pay jumps by 20pc to USD5.98M

CNA – Following a record annual profit for Singapore Airlines (SIA), the salary of Singapore national carrier’s CEO has also gone up.

Goh Choon Phong’s annual salary for FY2023/24 came in at SGD8.1 million (USD5.98 million) – a 20.5 per cent jump from SGD6.73 million in the previous year – according to SIA’s annual report released yesterday.

His annual renumeration comprises a base pay of SGD1.44 million, bonuses of SGD2.18 million, as well as shares and benefits amounting to about SGD4.48 million.

In May, SIA reported an annual net profit of SGD2.68 billion for the fiscal year ended March 2024, compared with SGD2.16 billion a year ago.

It also declared a final dividend of SGD0.38 apiece, higher than the SGD0.28 a year ago.

Having delivered a record annual profit for two years straight, SIA announced in May that its staff would receive about eight month’s bonus, the highest in the airline’s history.

It exceeded the previous year’s record of 6.65 months in profit-sharing bonus.

Shares of SIA closed at SGD6.88 yesterday.
