Showing support for a healthier Brunei

Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) participated in the Brunei Run to show support for Brunei Run 2022, part of the BN on the Move initiated by the Ministry of Health, in conjunction with World Heart Day celebration during Bandarku Ceria at the Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien in the capital yesterday.

The event aimed at achieving 20 billion steps by the end of the year towards promoting a lifestyle of good health and wellness.

BIBD’s support demonstrated its commitment to support His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s government as Partner in Progress and as part of its Sustainability Framework,in support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in ensuring healthy lives and promote the well-being of people of all ages.

The bank also showcased its ‘Corporate Platoon’ acting as an auxiliary group to the Brunei Darussalam Red Crescent Society in executing missions or tasks on basic first aid and life saving, an initiative reflecting BIBD’s commitment and readiness as a corporate citizen to serve the nation to look after the health and wellness of the people.

The platoon comprising 30 certified members and certified first aiders made up of the bank’s employees, aims to participate in humanitarian and volunteering work at national and international level.

The Corporate Platoon also conducted free wellness checks for the public during the event.
