Despite the persistent rainfall, Institute of Brunei Technical Education Sultan Bolkiah Campus (IBTE SBC) students showcased unwavering determination and sportsmanship during their annual Sports Day recently.
IBTE Chief Executive Officer Dr Haji Mohd Zamri bin Haji Sabli was the guest of honour at the event held at the Third Battalion Lumut Camp’s sports field.
The day commenced with a march past by students representing four house teams – Pahlawan, Panglima, Perkasa, and Perwira.
This was followed by cheer routines from each house, met with support from their peers and campus staff.
Dr Haji Mohd Zamri officiated the event and participated in a ceremonial 200-metre sprint. Students and staff competed in various events, including 100-metre and 200-metre sprints, tug-of-war, javelin throw, shot put and discus throw.
However, due to unfavourable weather conditions, it was announced that the remainder of the Sports Day activities would be rescheduled for a later date.
The annual event underscores IBTE SBC’s commitment to fostering teamwork, perseverance, and a spirit of friendly competition among its students and staff. – Daniel Lim
