Short essay writing competition winners named, receive prize

The prize presentation for a short essay competition 2023, organised by the Brunei Down Syndrome Association (ABLE), was held at Raja Isteri Girls High School (STPRI) yesterday.

ABLE President Haji Tuming bin Haji Jais highlighted the competition’s role in honing students’ writing talents and offering an opportunity for them to express their perspectives on Down Syndrome.

The competition was open to primary and secondary students including those with special needs.

In the primary school category, Nur Rabi’atul Azzarah binti Md Adhar of Tumpuan Telisai Primary School clinched the top spot followed by Muhammad Asyraf bin Haji Jufrian from Pintu Malim Primary School and An Nur Alessya Aribah of Tumpuan Telisai Primary School.

In the secondary school category, Nur Aldrianna Humaira binti Ahmad Amri of Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar Secondary School emerged as the winner followed by Mohd Nur Mahdi Zuhair bin Haji Md Ali Hassan of Sayyidina Hasan Secondary School and Fatini Sulwanie binti Mohd Fadzli of STPRI.

Meanwhile, in the special needs category Nur Adibah Amira binti Haji Md Asmadi of STPRI was named the winner followed by Nur Afiqah Danisha binti Haji Hanif and Nur Muhammad Hasbul Wafi bin Haji Abdul Razak.
