‘Shipping payment’ notice not true: Postal Services

The Postal Services Department of the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications (MTIC) informed the public that the “shipping payment” messages asking for delivery payment via https://express-bruneipost.online/ is not true.

The department clarified that it has never requested personal information and banking information from customers.

Accordingly, the public is advised not to share personal and financial information with unknown parties online, and to check its authenticity before clicking on links received via SMS, WhatsApp or other social media platforms. Any matters involving the sharing of personal information must be through the government’s official website, www.gov.bn.

The department said fraudulent activities are taken seriously by regularly implementing security measures to protect customers from any untoward incidents.

The public can report any fraudulent activities online by contacting BruCERT at 245 8001 or email to reporting@brucert.org.bn.
