Donation drive brings joy to families, orphans
Hengyi Industries Sdn Bhd held its annual donation drive to provide support to 12 underprivileged families and 14 orphans from Kampong Serasa and RPN Kampong Serasa.
The event saw Hengyi Industries present BND10,200 to 12 underprivileged families and 14 orphans, followed by the recitation of Doa Selamat and Tahlil. The event concluded with the breaking of the fast together with the recipients and guests.
The Ramadhan Donation Drive is a key initiative under Hengyi Cares, the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme. Through this initiative, the company aims to support those in need, ensuring that underprivileged families and orphans receive the assistance necessary to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri with ease and joy.
Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah was the guest of honour.
Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Economy) Dato Seri Paduka Haji Khairuddin bin Haji Abdul Hamid, Chinese Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Xiao Jianguo, Acting Village Head of Kampong Serasa Abdul Hamid bin Zinin and Head of Investment of the Investment Division at the Ministry of Finance and Economy Ahmad Fathi bin Dato Paduka Haji Junaidi were also present.
Support for Children’s Cancer Foundation
Mitsubishi Corporation organised a donation ceremony and a Majlis Berbuka Puasa for children under the care of Children’s Cancer Foundation (YASKA) at a restaurant on Thursday, marking the company’s first such initiative in Brunei during the holy month of Ramadhan.
Speaking at the event, Country Representative of Mitsubishi Corporation (Brunei Liaison Office) Tadashi Hara highlighted the company’s long-standing presence in Brunei for over half a century and its commitment to being a responsible corporate citizen. The event aimed to give back to the community and raise awareness about supporting children with cancer.
“We hope that through this small act, we can uplift their spirits, encourage a positive mindset, and leave a lasting memory of joy, kindness and generosity,” the representative said.
The company also emphasised that community support and social responsibility play a crucial role in fostering hope and resilience among those in need.

Orphans receive raya packets, goodie bags
Imagine Sdn Bhd recently presented Raya packets and goodie bags to 50 orphans at the Tutong District Officer’s official residence during an iftar event in the spirit of Ramadhan.
Acting Tutong District Officer Awangku Arif Anuar bin Pengiran Haji Ahmad and Director of the Industry and Business Ecosystem Division at the Ministry of Finance and Economy Allen On, in his capacity as Board Member and Acting Chief Executive Officer of imagine, presented the Raya packets and goodie bags.
Representatives from the Secretariat of Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah Fund for Orphans (DANA) Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, Tutong District Office, family members of the recipients and imagine team members were also present.

Donations to 38 students
The Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) Nakhoda Ragam Campus through the Campus Welfare Body held its second donation presentation ceremony for orphans and basic food aid contributions at the Lecture Hall, Al-Ataqah Building on its campus yesterday.
IBTE Central Acting Principal Armi Durani bin Haji Durhman, the guest of honour, presented the donations.
Some 38 selected students received basic necessities along with cash, contributed from the campus’s financial assistance contribution for orphans.
Earlier, Head of the School of Building Technology Services Noorisman bin Mentarais as representative of the Campus shared that the ceremony was one of the various projects and activities carried out continuously by the campus with the aim of helping campus residents, especially students in need. – Lyna Mohamad
