(ANN/KOREA HERALD) – Seventeen commemorated its ninth debut anniversary by launching its greatest hits album, “17 Is Right Here,” on Monday, pledging everlasting connection with its devoted fan base.
Dino of Seventeen introduced the group’s latest album at a press conference in Seoul, expressing, “We aimed to encapsulate our journey as Seventeen from our debut until now. This album serves as a culmination of our past endeavors while heralding a fresh chapter for Seventeen.”
Comprising 33 tracks, the album features beloved Korean and Japanese singles alongside four new releases: the lead track “Maestro,” “Lalali,” “Spell,” and “Cheers to Youth.”
“Maestro” debuts as an R&B track accentuated by piano melodies.
Woozi, involved in composing and penning the lyrics, elaborated, “The song embodies our aspiration to lead the music scene like a maestro. If one listens closely, they’ll notice familiar elements from seven of our previous songs, including ‘Adore U,’ woven into this new composition.”
The music video for “Maestro” delves into the essence of authentic music creation in an era dominated by AI and advanced technologies.
Reflecting on the production process, Woozi shared insights, stating, “We ventured into AI-assisted songwriting experiences to evolve alongside technology. Through these trials, we’ve discerned both the strengths and limitations of AI-generated compositions and pondered ways to preserve our unique musical identity amidst technological advancements.”
Seventeen teased an upcoming album release later this year.
Mingyu of Seventeen revealed, “We have another exciting release in the pipeline. Following our stadium tour across Japan, we plan to treat our fans, known as Carats, to a special fan concert. With a packed schedule ahead, we’re committed to delivering memorable experiences for our fans.”
The group’s inaugural stadium tour in Japan will commence at Yanmar Stadium Nagai in Osaka on May 18-19.
