ANN/THE KOREA HERALD – Jungkook of BTS has made history as the first and only Asian artist to surpass 2.1 billion streams on Spotify.
His solo track, Seven, which was released on July 14, 2023, achieved this remarkable milestone in just 518 days, becoming the fourth-fastest track in Spotify’s history to reach 2.1 billion streams globally.
In addition to this achievement, Jungkook’s success continued as he earned two spots on Spotify’s “Top Tracks of 2024 Global” year-end list, with Seven and Standing Next to You both making the cut.
This places him as the first Asian solo artist to have multiple songs ranked on Spotify’s prestigious annual global chart.
Seven has already made waves in the music industry, having topped Spotify’s Daily Top Songs Global Chart for a record 71 days, the longest by an Asian artist. The song also held the No. 1 spot on the Weekly Top Songs Global Chart for nine consecutive weeks, marking the longest streak for any male artist in 2023.
Furthermore, it made history as the first K-pop solo artist’s track to remain on the Daily Top Songs Global Chart for more than 500 days.
These milestones firmly cement Jungkook’s position as one of the most successful and influential figures in the global music scene.
