Seven heads of families affected by fires, strong winds and collapsed houses received much needed financial assistance from the government yesterday.
Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad presented the financial assistance in a ceremony at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
Two of the fire-affected families were from Kampong Pengiran Bendahara Lama, Brunei-Muara District, and one from Kampong Long Mayan, Tutong District.
Two families were affected by house collapses, in Kampong Saba Tengah and Kampong Lurong Dalam, Brunei-Muara District. Meanwhile, the homes of two families were impacted by strong winds in Kampong Pandai Besi ‘B’ and Kampong Sungai Pandan.
All families receiving the aid were unharmed by the disasters that hit their homes. – James Kon
