The Law Enforcement Division of the Immigration and National Registration Department (INRD) carried out three operations recently in multiple areas leading to the detention of seven individuals.
At a housing construction site in Mukim Berakas ‘B’, inspections conducted on four foreign nationals saw one of them fail to produce any original document. The foreign worker committed an offence under Section 15(1), Chapter 17 of the Immigration Act, for overstaying in the country. In another operation at a car workshop in Mukim Pekan Tutong and several rental houses in Mukim Keriam, five foreign nationals were arrested, three of them for failing to present any valid documents while two people for overstaying their immigration pass for working with another employer.
In another operation at a food stall in Mukim Kilanas, a foreign national was found to have overstayed in the country.
All the offenders were arrested and taken to the Law Enforcement Division for investigation.
