“The fifth generation of our newly updated GLE series marked the evolution of this exceptional model,” said Jati Transport Sdn Bhd’s Assistant Sales Manager Ivan Chia.
The changes in the model update mainly concern the design of the exterior and interior, the telematics, drive systems and equipment logic.
In the exterior, the front and rear design has been updated for an even more striking, modern appearance in addition to technical updates, while the interior also features new designs for the cockpit.
The highlights include the diamond grille with integrated Mercedes star and Mercedes-Benz pattern in chrome, the AMG-specific front and rear apron with AMG side sills in body colour, AMG-specific air outlets, front and rear wing flares, and visually impressive AMG light-alloy wheels.
“The model exhibits a more assertive and contemporary appeal, aligning perfectly with the preferences of today’s discerning customers,” added Ivan.
“Additionally, we’ve unveiled a pair of fresh colour options and a diverse array of wheel designs, granting our valued customers greater freedom of choice.”
The Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 4MATIC update model’s improved power and torque of the engine combines superior driving performance with the pleasant smoothness of a six-cylinder in-line petrol engine.
The integrated second-generation starter-generator (ISG2) has an electrical output of up to 15 kilowatts (kW) and supplies energy from the 48-volt (V) onboard network.
“This 48V onboard network enables the implementation of our innovative ‘EQ Boost’ feature.
This system comes into action when accelerating, providing an extra power boost to eliminate turbo lag, ensuring quick and responsive performance when needed.
“This technology adds 15kW of extra power, elevating the torque to 200 Newton-metre (Nm), complementing the car’s existing 500Nm torque for a total of 700Nm.”
Drawing inspiration from Formula One, Ivan explained that the EQ Boost technology recuperates energy during coasting and braking, harnessing the released energy to charge the battery or onboard network, allowing for electric-like driving exemplifying its efficiency and contributing to a greener environment and aligning with the current trend towards sustainability.
“The EQ Boost is also available in our new Mercedes-AMG GT four-door Coupe, GLS, C-Class and S-Class models, and has been integrated into most of our new vehicle line-up.”

“It equips the GLE with touch-sensitive buttons, allowing drivers to seamlessly navigate both the infotainment system and instrument cluster while keeping their hands firmly on the wheel, eliminating the need to reach for physical buttons,” added Ivan.
Ivan said the car has also been spec to accommodate five seats but with the option of seven, making it better suited for customers in the executive level or with a smaller family, who prefer this setup. The rear occupants gets the electronic seating adjustment for added convenience.
With the second row seats upright, the trunk offers a substantial luggage space of approximately 680 litres (L). When folded down, the space expands to about 2,088L, making it ideal for individuals requiring to transport large items or making long trips. The trunk space is impressively spacious and should meet the needs of most users.
SAFETY WITH INGENUITY

The Transparent Bonnet camera view combines images from the front camera and two exterior mirror cameras, creating a comprehensive visual representation on the display.
This view includes a virtual lane corresponding to the steering angle and is displayed on the central screen, providing an exact and timely perspective of the route ahead.
This proves beneficial not only in identifying obstacles like scree or boulders but also in challenging terrains, allowing better assessment of crests, slopes, and hollows that may not be visible through the windshield due to steep angles.
Moreover, this feature exemplifies the essence of the ‘Sensual Clarity’ design idiom, solidifying its position as one of the most remarkable representatives of this design philosophy.
The GLE also comes standard with Crosswind Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist and Attention Assist among other safety features.
“One of the standout features of the new facelift is the star emblem now adorning the grille instead of the previous diamond grille, which adds a touch of elegance to the vehicle.
