Series of inspections unearth violations

One foreign worker was recently apprehended by Immigration and National Registration Department (INRD) officials through its Law Enforcement Division, for overstaying in the country during an operation targeting a fish farm in Mukim Serasa.

The foreign national failed to produce any original documents and was believed to have an expired foreign worker permit.

INRD personnel also conducted a joint operation with the Labour Department and the Royal Customs and Excise Department by the Fisheries Department, targeting several fishing vessels and a house in Mukim Serasa.

A foreign national was arrested for overstaying in the country and for working under a visitor’s pass. The joint operation is part of an ongoing effort to combat activities that violate the Sultanate’s laws and regulations. – Azlan Othman
