One foreign worker was recently apprehended by Immigration and National Registration Department (INRD) officials through its Law Enforcement Division, for overstaying in the country during an operation targeting a fish farm in Mukim Serasa.
The foreign national failed to produce any original documents and was believed to have an expired foreign worker permit.
INRD personnel also conducted a joint operation with the Labour Department and the Royal Customs and Excise Department by the Fisheries Department, targeting several fishing vessels and a house in Mukim Serasa.
A foreign national was arrested for overstaying in the country and for working under a visitor’s pass. The joint operation is part of an ongoing effort to combat activities that violate the Sultanate’s laws and regulations. – Azlan Othman
