Senior citizens play key role in realising Brunei Vision 2035

The Wargamas Association plays a pivotal role in realising Brunei Vision 2035 and will move forward in tandem with the vision.

Wargamas Association President Haji Abu Bakar bin Haji Mohd Don said this at a celebration to mark the association’s fourth anniversary at Parkview Hotel in Jerudong yesterday.

In line with the theme, ‘Senior Citizens Strengthen Unity’, the association’s strategic planning will be consolidated in line with the current trends, said the president, adding that the committee members should play their part, by being more focused and strategic.

Ra’es of Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) Dr Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar was the guest of honour at the event that also saw the cutting of pulut kuning and the launch of the association’s official song.

Ministry of Health officers Dr Shahrimawati binti Haji Sharbini and Dr Hajah Asmah binti Haji Husaini, meanwhile, touched on the importance of training among senior citizens as they go through the ageing process.

Meanwhile, some 70 secretariat and committee members for 2021-2023 session received certificates for their contribution to the association. – Azlan Othman
