The Jubli Perak Sengkurong Health Centre’s newly-completed block, which houses patient registration counters, basic healthcare as well as maternal and child health services, will begin its operation tomorrow.
Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar was the guest of honour at a ceremony to launch the new block yesterday.
The minister toured the facilities, joined by Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health (MoH) Haji Maswadi bin Haji Mohsin, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Professional) at the MoH Dr Ang Swee Hui and Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Management) at the MoH Dr Hajah Anie Haryani binti Haji Abdul Rahman.
The new block a project under the 11th National Development Plan was built on an 0.727- acre land.
Costing BND3.1 million, construction began on May 6, 2021 and was completed on May 1, 2023.
The services maintained at the current block are blood sample, pharmacy, dental clinic, community eye clinic and psychiatric.
The operating hours of the health centre are from 7.45am to 12.15pm and 1.30pm to 4.30pm.
A shuttle bus service is also available at Sultan Sharif Ali Mosque from 7am. – James Kon
