The recent viral bullying incident has shocked the country.
In my opinion, the best way to deal with bullying is to teach all children self-defence. If schools are unable to deal with the issue, perhaps victims can be armed with means to protect themselves.
I was once bullied. After learning some self-defence, I was able to defend myself against the bullies, which prompted the end of bullying.
My experience may be anecdotal but I do believe that all students should be given the tools to protect themselves from bullies.
