A selawat ceremony was held at Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (BKISHHB) to mark the closing of ‘Bilik Rambut Mulia Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam’ opened throughout the month of Rabiulawal 1446 Hijrah, yesterday.
The gallery was opened from September 5 to October 3.
Minister of Development Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid, Deputy Minister (Civil Service Governance) at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Dato Seri Paduka Mohd Riza bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yunos and Deputy Minister (Security and Law) at the PMO Dato Seri Paduka Haji Sufian bin Haji Sabtu, in their capacities as members of BKISHHB’s Board of Advisors, were in attendance as special guests. Welcoming the special guests was BKISSHB Director Dr Haji Awang Mohammed Hussain bin Pehin Penyurat Haji Awang Ahmad, as the Head of Secretariat of the Board of Advisors.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Dikir, led by students from Institut Tahfiz Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, and concluded with Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam.
Since the opening of the gallery, the exhibition had received 3,769 visitors.
The BKISHHB also organised various religious activities including recitation of selawat that was allocated to four sessions.
Ceremonies and selawat activities were also held every Sunday during the month of Rabiulawal conducted by non-governmental organisations, registered associations and Zikir groups in collaboration with BKISHHB, which was also open to the public.
The participants comprised Zikir groups and associations from government ministries and departments, higher learning institutions, mosques and the private sectors. The selawat sessions attracted 938 participants to glorify and enliven the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). The ‘Bilik Rambut Mulia Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam’ will reopen again in January 2025 for three days to commemorate the Israk Mikraj celebration. – Rokiah Mahmud
