Sefli rolls back the years with endurance run triumph

Leading long distance running specialist Sefli Ahar rolled back the years with an incredible performance after winning the 9 to 4 endurance run in the Temburong District yesterday.

The local legend clocked a time of 6:22:19.17 and completed 17 laps to take the title followed by Ajmal Azman Sudin with the same number of laps but a longer time of 6:56:15.08s.

The top three runners boast a background in competitive ultra-trail running – with Zaffinul Fadli Zaffar claiming third place with a time of 6:38:56.24s, a lap behind the top two.

During the race, runners were required to run continuously for seven hours performing loops across a distance of 4.2 kilometres per lap. The runner who completed the most laps during the allocated time is expected to win.

A total of 342 participated in the run, organised by Passionku Brunei and supported by the Temburong District Office and the Temburong District Mukim and Village Consultative Council. – Fadhil Yunus
