Seeking knowledge is obligatory for every Muslim, male or female. It includes not only religious education but also practical knowledge beneficial for daily life, such as technology and science, which deepen our understanding of Allah the Almighty’s creations, said religious teacher from Pengiran Anak Puteri Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah Religious School Mohammad Faris Zayani bin Mohammad Firdausil Amin.
He said this while delivering a talk titled ‘The Obligation to Seek Knowledge’ during the 167th Munajat session organised by the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA), marking the start of the 2025 school term.
The Munajat commenced with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah, led by religious officer from Jerudong Religious School Haji Muhamad Said bin Haji Mustapa. This was followed by a collective recitation of Surah Yaasiin, guided by Mohammad Faiq Ismail bin Haji Mohd Faisal, a Year 6 student from Jerudong Religious School.
Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (YSHHB) Religious School Principal Azmerul bin Haji Haris recited Doa Munajat from the school’s prayer hall. The session continued with a group recitation of Selawat Tafrijiyyah, led by Haji Ahmad Hamzi bin Haji Abd Aziz, a Year 6 student of the same school.
The event concluded with the recitation of Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam by religious teacher from Tumpuan Telisai Religious School Sirajul Adli bin Haji Yusop.
The Munajat encouraged participants to enhance spiritual practices by seeking forgiveness through Istighfar, reciting and reflecting on Al-Quran and collectively offering prayers.
This effort aims to protect Brunei Darussalam and its people from calamities and harmful diseases while fostering a spiritually enriched society.
The event saw participation from teachers and students of religious schools nationwide, including Jerudong Religious School, YSHHB Religious School, Pengiran Anak Puteri Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah Religious School, and Tumpuan Telisai Religious School, Tutong District.
