The Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) continued its virtual Munajat night on Saturday, for the 48th consecutive week.
The event, jointly organised with the Ministry of Defence (MinDef), was held to seek forgiveness from Allah the Almighty through the recitation of prayers, while also praying for safety from calamities and diseases.
Officers and staff from both ministries, family members as well as congregants from 85 mosques, suraus and religious halls participated in the event.
Eleven mosques and suraus under the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF): Ad-Difa’ Surau at Bolkiah Garrison; Al-Faizun Surau, Berakas Garrison; Al-Huda Surau, Royal Brunei Navy; Al-Barakah Surau, Royal Brunei Air Force; Pengiran Ratna Indera (PRI) Surau, Tutong Camp ; Ar-Rahmah Surau, Lumut Camp; Al-Quwwah Surau, Bangar Camp; Al-Hikmah Surau, Penanjong Garrison; Asy-Syuja’ah Surau, Special Force Regiment; Asy-Syuhada’ Surau, RBAF Defence Academy and Pulau Baru-Baru Mosque also attended.
The gathering began with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah, led by Permanent Secretary (Development, Maintenance and Technology) at the MinDef Colonel (Rtd) Haji Mohammad Norfahssin bin Haji Abdul Karim from Ad- Difa’ Surau in Bolkiah Garrison followed by the reading of Surah Yaasiin led by Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) Acting Deputy Ra’es Dr Haji Abang Hadzmin bin Haji Abang Taha, from Bang Dalam Mosque in Tutong Disrict.
It proceeded with the reading of Doa Munajat by Syariah Court of Appeal Acting Head of Registrar Pengiran Mohammaddin bin Pengiran Haji Aliakbar and was joined by Syariah Court officers.
A religious talk on ‘Peaceful Nation Concept in Al-Quran; Lesson Learnt’ was delivered by MinDef Acting Religious Officer Pengiran Ahmad Hasanuddin bin Pengiran Haji Tejudin. A Zikir Taubat, Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam were also read.
Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan, Permanent Secretary at the MoRA Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim, and Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religious) at the MoRA Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang were also in attendance.
