High achievers at Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Secondary School were awarded for their 2022 BC GCE O-level exam results during the Excellent Prize Presentation ceremony at the school’s multipurpose hall yesterday.

The 55 high achievers, some accompanied by their parents and guardians, received their prizes from Assistant Managing Director (Corporate Services) of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Abdullah @ Dollah bin Haji Ahad.

Principal Chong Li Chen said despite various challenges faced in 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the students showed satisfactory results, with 55 out of 78 students, or 70.5 per cent, receiving at least five credits while 36 (46 per cent) received at least eight O-levels.

Meanwhile Abdullah @ Dollah expressed pride in seeing the progress of the students, especially in the field of education, with encouraging results in recent years.

He also touched on the role of teachers who are more creative, dynamic and adaptable in the delivery of teaching and learning, especially at the secondary level with the use of infocommunication technology as part of the teaching and learning tools.

The ceremony saw a special speech from a student who excelled in the 2022 BC GCE O-level exams followed by the screening of video clips, after which the students were presented with their prizes.

Year 11 teachers at the school were also awarded with a certificate of appreciation by Abdullah @ Dollah.
