The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organisation for Vocational and Technical Education and Training (SEAMEO Voctech) Regional Centre and Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote green and digital technical and vocational education and training (TVET) for sustainable development on Tuesday in Singapore.
The MoU also outlined cooperation for capacity building programmes and SEAMEO Voctech consultancy services to SNEF and its industry partners in Singapore. SEAMEO Voctech Centre Director Alias bin Haji Abu Bakar and SNEF Deputy Executive Director Stephen Yee signed the agreement.
The MoU is a follow-up on the 33rd Governing Board Meeting held in October in Bangkok where SNEF had expressed its interest in collaborating with the TVET Regional Centre on in-company trainers training, masters training and digital TVET training using the augmented reality, virtual reality and mixed reality technologies.
On Tuesday, delegates from SEAMEO Voctech were in Singapore for a working visit with SNEF and its partners, to discuss further collaboration on green TVET and sustainable initiatives and to learn more on the digital economy, green economy and care economy and how courses support SNEF initiatives.
During the visit, the delegation also paid industry visits, including Singrass, a working space that embraces eco-friendly practices and Neurowyser’s office, which prioritises mental well-being programmes at the workplace.
