The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organisation for Vocational and Technical Education and Training (SEAMEO Voctech) Regional Centre and China’s Go Study Global Education signed an agreement to collaborate in technical and vocational education and training yesterday.
The memorandum of agreement includes collaboration in skills training and professional development programmes, sharing of expertise and assistance on teaching resources, capacity building and other related activities.
SEAMEO Voctech Regional Centre Director Alias bin Haji Abu Bakar and General Manager of Go Study Global Education Yu Qi signed the agreement for their organisations.
The centre director said the agreement will provide training for locals to meet the demand of companies operating in the country, including those from China.
”It is timely that we can offer skills training demanded by industries that can address unemployment and at the same time, strengthen regional collaborations,” he said. – James Kon
