More than 40 participants from the Brunei-Muara District Scouts Association (PPDBM) visited the Brunei Energy Hub Dermaga Diraja in the capital, aimed at providing exposure to members of the scout association to the history, technology and important role of the energy industry in Brunei.
The participants were welcomed by officials from the Brunei Energy Hub, after which the scout members carried out a parade as a sign of respect prior to the start of the programme, which began with a speech by the PPDBM Scout Commissioner Skip Haji Samsuddin bin Haji Ahmad.
The scouts commissioner emphasised the importance of the visit in providing knowledge to the younger generation. The programme proceeded with a briefing on the Brunei Energy Hub, highlighting the objectives of the visit and the role of the hub in the country’s energy industry, followed by a guided tour around the Gallery and Interactive Exhibitions.
The scout members were also enlightened on the history and development of the energy industry in Brunei, viewed a display of the latest technology and green innovations in the field. The visit also saw them engaged in interactive activities to understand energy processes more closely and participated in quizzes and group activities themed around energy and environmental sustainability, aimed at increasing their awareness and interest in the field.
Scout members also asked questions and deepened their knowledge through interaction sessions with energy experts from the Brunei Energy Hub. The visit concluded with a photo session at the Dermaga Diraja area. The visit is expected to provide benefits to the participants and trigger their interest in the energy industry and environmental conservation efforts. – Lyna Mohamad
