The Tutong District Scouts Association (PPDT) in collaboration with the Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association (PPNBD) recently conducted a training course for scout leaders.
The Leaders Training Scheme was attended by 18 scouts from the Tutong and Belait districts, comprising leaders, future leaders and assistant leaders from Chung Hwa School Tutong, Belait Arabic School, Perdana Wazir Secondary School, Kuala Belait, Baden Powell Guild (BPG) and future district leaders of PPDT.
Also present were District Commissioner PPDT Haji Muhd Sufian bin Haji Abdul Karim, National Scout Training Commissioner Zainuddin bin Haji Ishak; PPNBD Headquarters Commissioner for Venture Scout Haji Burhanuddin bin Haji Md Daud; Training ADC PPNDB (Belait) Shahrin bin Haji Suhaili, Training ADC PPNDB (Brunei Muara), Ritchie Siabu and the training ADC PPDT Temburong,
The training programme was conducted by one course Leader, three District Training ADC as well as six course facilitators.
The course content covered registration of team and scouts membership, scouts/leaders log book, uniform for scouts, rover scouts and leaders, planning programme for team and weekly meeting for Cub Junior, Venture and Rover Scouts, the different scouts knots, flag folding, hoisting and lowering and several others.
The course concluded with an evaluation and question and answer session.
The course served to train and introduce scouting knowledge for leaders, future leaders and new assistant leaders for school Cub, Junior, Venture and Rover Scouts.
