    Scouting across borders

The Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association (PPNBD) welcomed a special visit from the Sambas District Scout Movement (Gerakan Pramuka Kwartir Cabang Sambas), Indonesia, on Sunday.

The 39-member delegation, comprising leaders and scouts, was led by Samarudin Abed Sutih.

The delegation was received by the Chief Commissioner of Scouts Haji Junaidi bin Haji Hussin, at the PPNBD Headquarters Meeting Room.

The welcoming ceremony featured a briefing on PPNBD presented by Public Relations Commissioner Muhammad Syahmi Halimshah. An interactive session followed, where both sides exchanged best practices in youth leadership training and fostering scouting values.

A cultural exchange programme titled ‘Majlis Titian Muhibbah’ was held in the evening at the PPNBD Headquarters Multipurpose Hall. The event showcased the cultural heritage of both countries and celebrated their shared scouting spirit.

The visit aimed to strengthen ties and collaboration between the two scouting organisations while providing an opportunity to exchange insights and experiences in scouting activities.

The delegation also received a briefing on PPNBD’s history, achievements and ongoing programmes.

The event was attended by members of the National Scout Council, scout commissioners, assistant scout commissioners, scout leaders, venture scouts and rover scouts.

PPNBD expressed its support for such initiatives, which not only bolster international relations but also align with scouting’s mission to nurture young leaders with integrity and vision. – Fadley Faisal
