A number of schools received smart devices as part of a pilot project to teach students coding and computational thinking.

The Coding with Smart Devices for Government Schools pilot project saw four primary and four secondary schools receive the equipment during a handover ceremony at Rimba III Primary School yesterday.

Deputy Permanent Secretary (Core Education) at the Ministry of Education (MoE) Aliuddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman received the devices on behalf of the school from Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI) Chief Executive Ir Haji Jailani bin Haji Buntar.

The deputy permanent secretary handed over the devices to the school leaders.

The pilot project, organised by the Curriculum Development Department in collaboration with AITI hoped the project can encourage students to improve their science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) skills.
