Alumni Sultan’s Scholars Association (PASS) presented donations of school supplies to underprivileged students in Kampong Bolkiah, through the charity drive campaign ‘PASS IT ON’ recently.

Eighteen primary and 16 secondary school students across 15 families received items which included school uniforms, shoes, bags, books and stationery during a handover ceremony at the Community Development Centre in Kampong Bolkiah ‘A’.

The event commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by PASS alumni member Md ‘Azim bin Abdul Hadi and an introduction of PASS, its vision and objectives by President Dr Md Ayyub bin Haji Kamaludin.

The ceremony also featured activities by Sultan’s Scholar alumni members, which included hands-on science experiments, educational games and demonstrations.

The activities were designed to encourage recipients of donations to become inquisitive thinkers and provided them with an opportunity for direct conversations with the alumni. Funds for the supplies, amounting to BND3,290, were raised through charity sales and pledges from PASS members.

PASS IT ON was conceived for previous Sultan’s Scholar recipients to give back to the community and support the academic development of underprivileged school students.
