Panglima Barudin Primary School (SRPBLM) in Kampong Limau Manis launched an anti-bullying campaign during a talk by Royal Brunei Police Force’s (RBPF) Criminal Investigation Department, Cyber Crime Investigation Unit and Women and Children Abuse Investigation Unit.
The event attended by students, teachers and staff was officiated by Headmaster Mohamad Sani bin Haji Mohamad Jais.
It aimed to instil a safer and more inclusive school environment as well as raise awareness on cyber bullying and cybercrime.
The event, in line with the Ministry of Education’s initiative to combat bullying in schools, discussed the effects of bullying including self-esteem, sadness, decreased performance, mental disorder, self-harm and even suicide. Disciplinary action against bullies such as suspension or expulsion from school, arrest and imprisonment were also highlighted.
