Miftah An-Nur School’s Student Council representatives gathered at the Community Development Department (JAPEM) yesterday for a cheque handover ceremony following their Term 1 bake sale.
The proceeds of BND583.20 were donated to the Humanitarian Fund for Palestinians in Gaza 2023, reflecting the students’ commitment to global solidarity and support for those in need.
Representing the school were Head of Primary and Early Years Lena Khatun and 12 representatives from the Student Council, ranging from Years 1 to 8.
Deputy Director Fauziah binti Haji Mohd Salleh represented the department.
“Miftah An-Nur has embodied and instilled in the children the importance of taking action.
“This marks the first organisation to make a donation this year and the second such initiative from Miftah An-Nur. Their dedication sets an inspiring example,” she said.
During the event, students from the council shared their experiences and reflections.
