Kesuma Mekar School recently held its Teacher’s Day celebration, recognising the contributions of educators and honouring students excelling in academics and co-curricular activities.
Acting Director of Examinations at the Ministry of Education (MoE) Shahrizal bin Haji Emran, the guest of honour, presented tokens of appreciation to former chairman of Kesuma Mekar School’s board of directors (2008-2020) and Koperasi Kesuma Mekar (2008-2020) Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha bin Pengiran Metasan.
Awards were also presented to the school’s anthem composer, Pengiran Haji Mohd Yassin bin Pengiran Damit and music arranger, Pengiran Mohamed Zulhilmi bin Pengiran Abdul Halim. The Dedication Award was presented to Migawati binti Rais, Pengiran Mohamed Zulhilmi bin Pengiran Abdul Halim and Roswani Haji Mohammad Wahap.
Migawati also received the Teacher’s Day Appreciation Award.
Students who excelled in the Primary School Assessment (PSR), including Muhammad Arshad bin Muhammad Rezan, Adrianshah Qaiser bin Hamransah, Muhammad Noor Ghazi Afif bin Mohammad Noor Faizan, Farzana binti Fadly, Allysya Aimuni binti Kefli, Nuraisyah Bashirah binti Muhammad Khairul Hazmin and Nur Haziqah binti Mahali, were recognised with tokens of appreciation.
Additionally, awards were also presented to students who represented the school in national-level competitions such as the Patriotic Song Choir, Sketsa Kata-Kata Pantang Larang Orang Tua-Tua, Jawi reading and Tausyeh performances.
In his welcoming speech, Chairman of Kesuma Mekar School’s Board of Directors Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Rahman bin Pengiran Seri Indera Pengiran Haji Ismail highlighted the event’s aim to acknowledge the dedication of teachers and celebrate the academic and co-curricular achievements of students.
The ceremony also featured performances from students, including kindergarteners and seniors, many who excelled in national-level co-curricular competitions.
The event concluded with the official opening of the newly constructed Bilik Ibadah Kesuma Mekar School.
