The alumni of Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam Secondary School (SMSMJA) 1975-78 intake, the first intake of English stream, held a Tahlil and Doa Arwah ceremony at a restaurant in Sengkurong on Sunday.
Chairperson of the ceremony Haji Japarruddin bin Haji Noordin said the gathering was the seventh of its kind since the alumni association was established in 2016 to pray for former students and teachers of the alumni who had passed away.
The event was held in view of the blessed month of Sya’aban which is a prelude to the holy month of Ramadhan.
The annual gathering is held to forge closer ties among former students and their family members.
Haji Japaruddin meanwhile thanked the former students for their cooperation and support for the annual gathering. – Azlan Othman
