Petrokon Utama Sdn Bhd, supported by the Forestry Department, held a sapling planting event at Bukit Perumping, Sungai Liang, Kuala Belait on Saturday.
Over 60 staff members participated in the event.
It was organised by the QHSE Department, led by General Manager (Delivery) Haji Mohd Saney bin Haji Abdul Halim and General Manager (Corporate) Haji Jamain bin Haji Mohd Lot.
The event was part of the company’s corporate initiative to support Green Protocol in reducing carbon emissions in the Sultanate in line with the Brunei Darussalam National Climate Change Policy (BNCCP) in paving the way for the country to become a sustainable nation.
It also aimed to foster community spirit and unity; educate communities on the benefit of trees and nature; bring about positive impact on mental health by reducing stress through outdoor activities.
