Royalty join Olympic Day Run

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah, President of the Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council (BDNOC) joined around 1,600 participants in the Olympic Day Run at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ’Ali Saifuddien in the capital yesterday.

Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak ’Aliiyah Amalul Bulqiah and Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad were also present.

The event organised by BDNOC with cooperation from the Youth and Sports Department at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports was held in conjunction with the International Olympic Day celebrated every June 23.

His Royal Highness was welcomed by the minister and members of the Diplomatic Corps before joining a group photo. The event continued with a warm up session and His Royal Highness sounding off the race.

His Royal Highness and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak ’Aliiyah Amalul Bulqiah participated in the three-kilometre run.

The event concluded with His Royal Highness presenting medals to the top 10 winners of each categories. All race participants received certificates and 20 lucky draw prizes were drawn.
