His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahaman yesterday attended the Brunei Darussalam Primary Schools Swim Festival held at the Swimming Pool of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex.
Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda Muhammad Aiman participated in the boys’ 7 to 11 years’ 50 metres (m) breaststroke, 25m butterfly, 50m backstroke, and 25m freestyle events in the morning session.
Meanwhile, in the afternoon session, Yang Teramat Mulia participated in the 25m backstroke, 25m breaststroke, and 50m freestyle events. The festival, held for the first time, was open to primary school students aged between seven and 11 years in 2023 and was attended by 151 students from 12 government and private schools.
The Ministry of Education (MoE) jointly organised the competition through the Physical and Recreation Division of the Co-Curriculum Education Department, and the Brunei Darussalam Swimming Association.
Acting Director of Co-Curriculum Education Julaihi bin Mohamad/Mohamat presented prizes to the winners.
The competition aimed to uncover the talent and potential of students, specifically in swimming; enhance cooperation and networking among the educational institutions in Brunei Darussalam and enhance cooperation between the MoE and relevant agencies towards efforts to apply education.
