His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahaman on Friday attended the International School Brunei (ISB) religious class Khatam Al-Quran. The religious event was held at Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (BKISHHB).
The event celebrated some 29 Primary Six students completing the recitation of 30 chapters of Al-Quran, including Their Royal Highnesses’ daughter Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Anak Muneerah Madhul Bolkiah.
Also in attendance were Their Royal Highnesses’ children Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Muntaqim; Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda Muhammad Aiman; and Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Anak Faathimah Az-Zahraa’ Raihaanul Bolkiah.
Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman and spouse were also present.
Their Royal Highnesses later presented Khatam Al-Quran certificates to the students.
His Royal Highness the Crown Prince also received Pesambah from the school.
The event’s objective was to encourage students to read the Al-Quran correctly while inculcating the reading of the Holy Book as part of daily life. It also sought to complement the government’s goals of producing a literate generation in Al-Quran. – AZLAN OTHMAN
