The Embassy of Indonesia in Brunei Darussalam hosted a Hari Raya open house at the Indonesian Ambassador’s residence yesterday.
Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Rakiah and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz bin Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar attended the event.
“We are honoured by the presence of Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Rakiah,” said Indonesian Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Achmad Ubaedillah after the open house.
“We also thank all Brunei officials and Diplomatic Corps who attended the open house, which shows the close relationship among us.
“I hope that this event can further strengthen our cooperation,” he added.
More than 300 guests attended the event, including Diplomatic Corps, Cabinet ministers and senior government officials as well as academics and members of the media.
Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman; Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof and Minister of Education Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh.
The guests were treated to a variety of Indonesian food such as lontong cap gomeh, rendang, bakso malang, sate padang, asinan bogor, siomay and traditional cakes.
The Indonesian Embassy is also hosting a Hari Raya open house for Indonesians living in Brunei at the ambassador’s residence today. – Lyna Mohamad
