Royalty grace drone, firework spectacle

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday consented to grace the drone show and firework displays in conjunction with the 40th National Day celebration in the capital yesterday.

His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik and His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen were also present.

His Majesty and Their Royal Highnesses also consented to visit the Yayasan Food Street at the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex.

The spectacle at the Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas captivated the crowd with close to 500 drones flying into the air and transforming into various landmarks of the Sultanate, such as the Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Bridge, Nodding Donkey, Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque, the official logo of the 40th National Day celebration and Awang Budiman.

The show was performed by the Shanghai Crostars Cultural and Tourism Technology Group and sponsored by Gallop Air and organised by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. – Adib Noor
