His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office attended a Doa Kesyukuran ceremony at Surau Ad-Difa’, Ministry of Defence (MinDef) in Bolkiah Garrison to mark the 61st anniversary of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) yesterday. Accompanying His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah was His Royal Highness 920 Major (U) Prince ‘Abdul Mateen.
Upon arrival, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah was greeted by Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof and Commander of the RBAF Major General Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan. The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Imran by Qari Champion of Al-Quran Reading Competition Soldadu Muhammad Zainul Arifin bin Haji Haminuddin from the Second Batallion of the Royal Brunei Land Forces.
The ceremony continued with Isyak prayer before ending with a dinner at the Bolkiah Garrison Officer’s Mess.
The ceremony was held simultaneously at all RBAF mosques and suraus, including Pulau Baru-Baru Mosque.
Also in attendance were the acting permanent secretary at the MinDef; military and joint forces commanders; deputy permanent secretaries at the MinDef; directors; commanders; and senior officials of the MinDef and the RBAF; as well as special guests, including former deputy ministers of defence and RBAF commanders.
