His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahaman attended the first leg of the semi-final match between DPMM FC and Kota Ranger FC in the Brunei FA Cup 2022 at the Jerudong Park Mini Stadium (JPMS) in Jerudong last night.

His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik, Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Muntaqim, Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Anak Muneerah Madhul Bolkiah and Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda Muhammad Aiman were also present.

The hosts featured most of the players who were called on international duty during the recent qualification round victory over Timor Leste led by national captain Mohd Hendra Azam Idris.

The Gegar Gegar men held a slender advantage against the most recent winners of the competition following a 1-0 victory.

Hakeme Yazid Said’s solitary effort proved the difference as the two sides looked to battle it out again for the second leg.

The second leg of the semi-final will commence on November 27 at the Track and Field of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex, with the winner advancing to the title decider.

Meanwhile in the other semi-final tie, Kasuka FC defeated the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council (MS ABDB) 2-0 at the Berakas Sports Complex.

Goals from Muhammad Maududi Hilmi Kasmi and Leon Sullivan Taylor either side of half time put one of the title contenders in the driving seat heading to the second leg.
