His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam chaired a Special Meeting of the Adat Istiadat Council at the Prime Minister’s Office yesterday.
His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office as Advisor of the Adat Istiadat Council; His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik as Deputy Chairperson I of the Adat Istiadat Council; His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen as Deputy Chairperson II of the Adat Istiadat Council; His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah as Chairperson of the Adat Istiadat Council; and His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah as Deputy Chairperson III of the Adat Istiadat Council were present.
His Majesty and members of the royal family were greeted on arrival by Chief of Adat Istiadat Negara Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib Pengiran Anak Haji Idris bin Pengiran Maharaja Lela Pengiran Muda Abdul Kahar, the Assistant Chairperson of the Adat Istiadat Council.
State Mufti Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned recited Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat.
The Adat Istiadat Council comprises Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran-Pengiran Cheteria, Cabinet ministers, members of the Privy Council, the Commissioner of Police, the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces and Pehin-Pehin Manteri. – Azlan Othman
