Royal couple off to Singapore for 10th YLP

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Her Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab. Rahaman on Tuesday left for the Republic of Singapore to attend the 10th Young Leaders’ Programme which will be held from 10th to 14th September 2024.

His Royal Highness’ visit for the 10th Young Leaders’ Programme is upon the invitation of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore Lawrence Wong.

Present at His Majesty the Sultan’s Flight Hangar to bid farewell to His Royal Highness and Her Royal Highness was His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik.

Accompanying His Royal Highness and Her Royal Highness were Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda Muhammad Aiman and Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Anak Faathimah AzZahraa’ Raihaanul Bolkiah.

Prior to departure, Doa Selamat was recited by Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar.

Upon arrival at the VIP Complex, Changi International Airport, His Royal Highness
and Her Royal Highness were welcomed by Singapore’s Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, Second Minister for Education and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohamad Maliki Osman and spouse Madam Saadiah Shahal; Senior Minister of State at the Prime Minister’s Office as Minister-in-Attendance Desmond Tan, and spouse Mrs Tan as Lady-in-Attendance.

Also present to greet Their Royal Highnesses were High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to the Republic of Singapore Hajah Noor Qamar binti Haji Sulaiman; and High Commissioner of the Republic of Singapore to Brunei Lawrence Bay, and spouse.

During the visit, His Royal Highness will attend a tea ceremony hosted by the President of the Republic of Singapore Tharman Shanmugaratnam. He will make a courtesy call to Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore Lawrence Wong.

The 10th YLP program will also include visits to Sentosa Development Cooperation, Jurong Town Corporation (JTC) Summit, Temasek Polytechnic and the Centre of Excellence for Soldier Performance.

The Young Leaders’ Programme is an annual exchange programme between Brunei Darussalam and Republic of Singapore to enhance the existing bilateral relationship, and for future leaders to exchange views on bilateral cooperation, regional and global development as well as to explore opportunities for generating economic advancement in Brunei Darussalam.

Hosted alternately between both countries, the Programme was previously held in 2023 in Brunei Darussalam.
