His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam received in audience President of the 76th Session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly Abdulla Shahid at Istana Nurul Iman yesterday.
The president is on a three-day visit to the Sultanate.
His Majesty and Abdulla Shahid discussed Brunei’s role in strengthening multilateralism, as well as the president’s priorities during his leadership of the UN General Assembly.
His Majesty and Abdulla Shahid, who is also the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives, further touched on matters relating to the bilateral relations between the Sultanate and Maldives.
Minister of Foreign Affairs II Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof was also present.
Abdulla Shahid last visited Brunei in March 2020 to discuss the strengthening of bilateral relations as well as the exploration of new areas of cooperation for the mutual benefit of the two countries.
